Aside

AI browser that signs in as you and finishes work across your own accounts — no integrations.
Aside (legally Aside Computer Inc., 45 Lansing St, San Francisco) builds a macOS AI browser that does work rather than answering questions about it: it signs in as the user and operates inside their own email, dashboards, internal tools, docs and spreadsheets, which is its stated difference from agents that depend on per-app integrations. Its manifesto puts the thesis plainly - most modern software is just a tab, so the browser, not the model, is the operating system for AI. Two pieces carry the product. Memory is local: browsing history becomes on-device context so the agent knows which sites serve which job without being told again. The other is a password manager built for agents - credentials autofill into sites without ever reaching the model, access is scoped per task and logged in Secure Enclave, and sensitive actions such as payments, posts and messages wait for human approval; the terms of service state that by default user content, browsing history and vault data are not used to train models and third-party providers are configured for zero data retention. Around that sit Ultrabrowse for deep research, scheduled routines, a CLI/MCP/REPL surface for developers, and task control from Slack, Telegram or Discord. Aside publishes its benchmark artifacts rather than only claiming them: 99.0% on Online-Mind2Web (297/300), 93.0% on BU Bench V1 and 151/200 perfect tasks on Odysseys, run on gpt-5.5 through openai-codex, with per-task results in a public MIT-licensed repo. Founded in 2024 by Jun Kim (CEO), Chanhee Lee (CPO) and Sanghun Lee (CTO) - Kim and Lee were founding engineers at Airbridge.io, which they helped scale to $30M ARR - and accepted into Y Combinator's Fall 2025 batch, where it launched as asidehq.com, a real-time answer layer for enterprise sales calls, before pivoting to the browser at aside.com. Five employees. Free, $20 Pro and $200 Max plans on a credit model, plus Enterprise. No priced round has been disclosed and no Form D appears on EDGAR.

Growth
Five people in San Francisco (YC directory, read 2026-09-05), hiring a founding designer, an iOS engineer and a GTM lead. Monetizes as a credit ladder: Free $0 (bring your own model subscription, 500 credits/month, 3 routines), Pro $20/month (3x usage, Ultrabrowse, unlimited routines, channels, cloud handoff), Max $200/month (40x usage), plus an unpriced Enterprise tier for shared company accounts and vaults. Benchmark results are PUBLISHED with per-task artifacts (github.com/at-inc/aside-benchmarks, MIT, 48 stars): Online-Mind2Web 297/300 = 99.0% (99.3% excluding one impossible task), BU Bench V1 93.0% on gpt-5.5 and 88.0% on kimi-k2.6, Odysseys 151/200 perfect tasks (75.5%) with an 86.5% task-average rubric score. Runs were driven by third-party models (gpt-5.5 via openai-codex), so the scores measure Aside's harness on top of someone else's model, not a model of its own.
