ℹ️ How to use QL Retirement

A retirement plan built from your own numbers: your age and the age you plan to stop, what you have saved by account, what you put in, what you spend and the lifestyle you want after work, Social Security and Medicare on the published rules, a partner, pensions and part-time income. The engine projects every year to the age the plan must last, runs 1,000 simulated markets, compares sixteen scenarios and tells you which levers close the gap.

  1. Start from your budget. If you use QL Budget, the first draft is seeded from it — age, salary, spending, balances and contributions. Otherwise start from the sample plan and change the inputs.
  2. Set the life you want. Pick a lifestyle (lean to luxury) or type the monthly spend you expect, when the mortgage ends, whether spending drifts down later, and long-term care if you want to fund it.
  3. Decide Social Security and healthcare. Enter the benefit from your SSA statement (or let the plan estimate it), pick a claim age and see every alternative; healthcare covers the pre-65 bridge, Medicare Part B and D with IRMAA, Medigap and out-of-pocket.
  4. Test scenarios. Drag the sandbox sliders for instant answers, compare the named scenarios, and apply the one you want. Ask QL Intelligence any what-if in plain language — “what if I retire at 60 and claim at 70?”
  5. Shape the dashboard. Drag modules by ⠿, resize to ⅓ ½ Full, hide what you do not need, ask for custom modules (“add a chart of my healthcare cost by age”), and save named views.
