CRV (formerly Charles River Ventures) was founded in 1970 and has backed more than 750 startups, about 80 of which went public, including DoorDash (seed lead), Mercury and Vercel (Series A leads). In August 2025 it closed CRV XX, a $750M twentieth flagship fund raised in four weeks, deliberately smaller than its $1B 2022 fund after returning $275M of a $500M Select fund to LPs; the fund targets seed and Series A rounds in consumer and devtools companies.
