Phinity Labs is a San Francisco applied research lab building fully autonomous chip design: agents that design, verify and tape out custom chips in a closed loop with real physical feedback, which it says produces verified designs an order of magnitude faster and with better power, performance and area than experienced engineers using frontier coding agents. Co-founders Sonya Jin (ex-NVIDIA chip-design LLM data, AWS AI Lab) and Aadi Nashikkar (exited founder) came to chip design from model post-training, and the team includes former Intel, Kepler Computing and NVIDIA silicon leads. It says it already works with some of the largest foundation-model labs and has an 8-figure annualized run rate. After a PearX pre-seed from Pear, it raised a $5.2M seed led by Uncork Capital with Moxxie and angels including Jeff Dean, announced October 8, 2026.
