Physical AI for senior living — sensors and AI delivering fall detection, behavioral and emergency alerts, and care-utilization insight
Inspiren is a New York-based senior-living technology company founded in 2016 by former Green Beret and cardiothoracic nurse Michael Wang, and led since late 2022 by CEO Alex Hejnosz (co-founder of CipherHealth). Its AUGi sensor and AI platform monitor assisted-living and memory-care residents to deliver real-time fall detection, behavioral and emergency alerts, and care-utilization insight under a privacy-first design that avoids cameras pointed at residents, aiming to keep them healthier and out of the emergency room. After pivoting from hospitals to senior living, Inspiren monitors roughly 40,000 residents across just over 500 communities at about $1,000 per resident; subscription revenue nearly quadrupled to $29M from $8M a year earlier, with contracted revenue past $60M. In September 2026 it closed a $70M Series C led by NewView Capital at a $550M post-money valuation, bringing total funding to $225M — which the company says is the most raised by any company in the sector. It has won an Edison Award and a place on TIME's Best Inventions list.
