Methodology

  • One edition per calendar quarter, starting Q3 2026. While the quarter runs, the edition is a preliminary quarter-to-date read and says so; on the first day after the quarter ends it becomes the final, dated edition.
  • Returns come from closing prints at the quarter's key sessions for every listed ticker: the last session of the prior quarter is the baseline, each month end marks the path, and the latest completed session is the read. Quarter-to-date is the latest close over the baseline close; the prior quarter is measured the same way one quarter earlier.
  • High performers are ranked by quarter-to-date return among companies with a market cap of $2B or more and a price above $5. Signal, score, RSI, momentum, trend and news sentiment come from the QL signal battery; a sentiment of exactly zero means no scored coverage and is excluded from the sentiment reads.
  • The Mood Composite follows a published rule — six pillars percentile-ranked against their own history — and is labelled RULE.
  • The regime forecast is a model, labelled MODELED wherever it appears: six pillars with printed rules (trend and breadth, index momentum, news sentiment, the Mood Composite, the macro backdrop and volatility), a weighted composite whose weights you can change, regime bands, and a SPY scenario built from the long-run quarterly mean tilted by the score inside a one-sigma band. It is not a prediction of any single outcome.
  • Hover, focus or tap any card module — leaders, laggards, news-tone names, the watchlist, macro indicators, forecast pillars and the summary tiles — for the record behind it: price and monthly path, prior quarter and trailing returns, the engine signal and score, RSI and trend, news tone, the analyst target and thesis, and a one-line verdict.
  • Free readers see the KPIs and the first two sections. The full report is part of Pro. A QL Stock Market Quarterly Report is a dated research document, not investment advice.

Frequently asked questions

What is the QL Stock Market Quarterly Report?

A dated quarterly report on the public stock market: the quarter's best-performing companies with a market cap of $2 billion or more, the index and sector scoreboard, where returns landed across the universe, large versus mid versus small caps, breadth and internals, the QL engine's signals by sector, fallen and new leaders, the news-sentiment pulse, the macro backdrop, the QL Mood Composite and a clearly labelled modeled forecast of the next quarter's regime. The first edition covers Q3 2026.

Where do the numbers come from?

From exchange closing prints at the quarter's key sessions for every listed ticker, the QL signal battery (signal, score, RSI, MACD, momentum, trend), news-sentiment scores, the performance rankings, published macro series and the yield curve, the VIX and the QL Mood Composite. The Mood Composite follows a published rule and the regime forecast is a model, both labelled as such.

Who can read the full report?

The headline KPIs and the first two sections are free to every reader. The full report, including the high-performer table, return distribution, cap bands, breadth, signals, leaders, news pulse, macro backdrop, the Mood Composite and the regime forecast, is part of the Pro plan.

Is the forecast a prediction?

No. The regime forecast is a model over six published pillars: trend and breadth, index momentum, news sentiment, the Mood Composite, the macro backdrop and volatility. Each pillar's rule is printed, the weights can be changed on the page, and the SPY scenario is a long-run mean tilted by the regime score inside a one-sigma band. It is labelled MODELED everywhere it appears and is not investment advice.
