AI-native CRM built as a system of record for agents, not for humans to type into.
Lightfield is a San Francisco company building an AI-native CRM intended as a system of record that AI agents can work from rather than one humans type into. Its argument is that forty years of CRM has encoded customer relationships as fields, stages and notes written from memory after the call, and that agents layered onto that data inherit its gaps and produce work companies cannot verify. Lightfield instead captures every customer interaction as it happens across email, calendar, calls, Slack and LinkedIn, and structures it into what the company calls a world model of the business. The company is legally Magical Tome Inc. and was founded in 2020 by CEO Keith Peiris and Henri Liriani, both former Meta product managers, who first built Tome, an AI presentation tool that reached about 25 million users. They concluded Tome would not build a large enough company, cut back to a core engineering team and rebuilt around a problem they had hit while scaling it: the absence of an AI-native CRM. The Lightfield platform launched in November 2025 and more than 5,000 companies had signed up within a year, some of them replacing Salesforce. It announced a $47M Series A led by Andreessen Horowitz on 2026-09-09; no valuation was disclosed.

Self-updating record - ingests email, calendar, calls, Slack and LinkedIn and structures each interaction into the CRM without a rep typing it in
Business world model - connects every interaction to the people, deals and accounts it touches and preserves how each changed over time, so agents can reason and predict from it
Agent harness - agents work through a standardised SDK and run analysis in a monitored code sandbox, with evals holding output quality consistent across runs
Open platform - every record is readable and writable via API, MCP and CLI, so anything a person can do in the product an agent can do too
