Katalyze AI

Agentic operating system for pharma operations: AI agents for batch investigations, process monitoring and deviation management
Katalyze AI builds agentic infrastructure for pharmaceutical operations. Its platform unifies fragmented pharma systems into a single data layer and lets scientists deploy teams of expert-designed AI agents on top to automate engineering, scientific and manufacturing work such as batch investigations, process monitoring and deviation management. The company says five of the world's 20 largest pharma companies, including Sanofi, run Katalyze, that 10 million doses have been deployed through it, and that customers see 40% faster batch release and deviation investigations cut by 50% (company claims). Co-founder and CEO Reza Farahani (University of Waterloo) previously co-founded and sold HR software startup WFHomie; co-founder and COO Shreyas Becker was head of AI and data products for manufacturing and supply at Sanofi in Toronto; Hannes Bretschneider is Chief AI Officer. Dual-headquartered in Toronto and San Francisco with about 40 staff. In July 2026 it raised a $10.5M (C$14.9M) seed led by Bonfire Ventures with Inovia Capital, Ripple Ventures and Alumni Ventures. Its stated aim is to halve the eight to twelve years and $2B+ it takes to bring a drug to market by 2030.
