Impossible Objects builds Composite-Based Additive Manufacturing (CBAM) systems that bring 3D printing to production volume. The CBAM 25, launched in early 2025, has taken five orders and is deployed across aerospace, defense and advanced manufacturing, including the U.S. Air Force, the National Institute for Aviation Research, the Oregon Manufacturing Innovation Center and Rochester Institute of Technology; at U.S. Army Rock Island Arsenal it can support up to 10,000 drone bodies a month. The company also holds $20M in U.S. government contracts and awards, including SBIR Phase I and II work on long-range drones and aircraft structures. In September 2026 it raised a $40M Series B led by Inflection Equity. Founded by chairman Robert Swartz and led by CEO Steve Hoover, it operates in Northbrook, Illinois and Rochester, New York.
