Compute-and-memory co-designed chip systems for AI inference
Euclyd is an Eindhoven semiconductor company building chip systems for AI inference — the stage where a trained model answers queries — rather than for training. Its pitch is that the bottleneck is moving data between compute and memory, so it co-designs the processor and the memory architecture together, along with the rack-level system, to cut the energy, cost and floor space of running foundation models. It plans two businesses: selling rack systems to enterprises that want to run inference on their own premises, and licensing its designs to other chip developers. Founded in 2024 at High Tech Campus Eindhoven by CEO Bernardo Kastrup and Atul Sinha, it is chaired by Peter Wennink, the former CEO of ASML. In September 2026 it raised a Series A of more than €200M co-led by Samsung, Somerset Capital Partners, the EQT-managed Scaleup Europe Fund and Innovation Industries. Nothing has shipped: the company has not demonstrated its systems at commercial scale, targets first deliveries in 2028, and is entering a market where NVIDIA holds an estimated 60-75% of inference and owns the software ecosystem.
