Cylake

AI-native cybersecurity platform that runs entirely on-premises or in private cloud, for institutions that cannot use the public cloud.
Cylake is a Sunnyvale, California cybersecurity company building a complete, AI-native security platform for large, heavily regulated institutions - government agencies, defense contractors, critical-infrastructure operators and financial institutions - that cannot send security data to a vendor's public cloud. Leading platforms such as CrowdStrike Falcon, Palo Alto Networks Cortex and SentinelOne Singularity detect threats by shipping telemetry to the vendor's cloud; Cylake is built to run fully on-premises or in private cloud, on a single unified data foundation rather than a patchwork of tools. It was founded at the start of 2026 by CEO Nir Zuk, who founded Palo Alto Networks in 2005 and was its CTO for two decades until August 2025; Chief Development Officer Wilson Xu, who led Palo Alto Networks' engineering team for more than a decade; and Chief Architect Ehud (Udi) Shamir, a SentinelOne co-founder. It emerged from stealth in March 2026 with a $45M seed led by Greylock, took a strategic investment from In-Q-Tel in April, and in September raised $245M through a convertible note from Lightspeed Venture Partners, Picture Capital and Redpoint Ventures, bringing total funding to $290M. Its board includes Mark McLaughlin, Jim Goetz, Asheem Chandna, Ravi Mhatre and Zuk. The product is not yet in beta: a beta is expected by the end of 2026 and general availability in 2027.
